Cleveland Erieview Convention Center

Cleveland Erieview Convention Center

|   Cleveland OH
Overview: The proposed new Erieview Center for Conventions and Trade was developed in response to an invited competition for a major new convention center in downtown Cleveland. The new convention center is an expansion of the Galleria and Erieview Tower complex, located in the center of downtown Cleveland.

The new convention center’s main exhibition space, totaling 226,800 square feet at grade level, is sub-divisible into three sections to accommodate a variety of event sizes. Natural light is brought into the exhibit spaces through a series of rooftop light monitors that allow the hall’s visual character to be finely tuned to event needs.

The center’s 40,000 gsf Grand Ballroom is strategically located so that it communicates visually with 12th Street, St. Clair Avenue, and the exhibition hall prefunction space below. Located at the same level as the Galleria’s meeting rooms and the 12th Street pedestrian bridge connecting to them, the multi-purpose Grand Ballroom will function for trade shows, conventions and meetings as well as local events held separately from the rest of the convention center.

The meeting / conference center portion of the Erieview Center will enjoy the grand, naturally lit space of the Erieview Galleria. Located on the second level, above the Galleria’s upgraded stores and restaurants, state-of-the-art meeting rooms will be created through adaptive reuse of the structure.
